Television
She recently appeared in ‘Waterloo Road’ playing ‘Zoe’ on BBC1. My role as ‘Calista’ in “Shameless” is still being talked about! I’m probably best known on our TV Screens for playing ‘Delilah Dingle’ for over 2 years on one of Britain’s favourite family drama’s “Emmerdale”. As the dishy but sometimes dizzy Dingle girl I played havoc on the series with various love, comedy, and tragedy storylines. The Producers loved writing for this feisty Northern lass … and I loved playing her.
You will also have seen me playing lead characters in the TV drama’s “The Royal Today”; “Where the Heart is” and “The Royal”.
Stage
My stage career has included numerous West End and No 1 Theatre Tours. I absolutely loved playing The Lady of the Lake in “spamalot” – it brought out my inner Diva! I enjoyed playing ‘Janet’ in Richard O’Brien’s “Rocky Horror Show”. Other musicals I had loved performing on stage in include “Mamma Mia” in the West End; “Boogie Nights”, “Grease”, “Fame” and “Boyband”. One of my favourite roles was playing the lovely character of ‘Diana Morales’ in “A Chorus Line”.
I loved touring with “The Vagina Monologues” where I could show my range of comedy delivery and was able to reduce the audience from laughter to tears with a simple change of tempo during these monologues.
Pantomime’s have always been a part of my Christmas routine and I’ve enjoyed playing everything from ‘Princess Jasmine’; ‘Aladdin’, ‘Snow White’, ‘Cinderella’ and even the ‘Fairy Godmother’ over the years but playing Peter Pan is one of my favourite roles – a tomboy who flies… bliss!
Celebrity Based Shows
Winning Dancing on Ice 2010 was a dream come true for me. Performing the Bolero t a TV audience of over Ten million was amazing.
I’ve won “Soapstar Superchef” which showed off my cooking skills (actually my father and brother both work as Chefs); “Celebrity Stars in their Eyes” saw me playing a very convincing ‘Lulu’ even the real Lulu commented how good I looked and sang!
Michael Ball was one of the judges on “Soapstar Superstar” and was so impressed with my singing that he asked me to join him on his concert tour which was fabulous.
And I scared myself silly on “Ghost hunting with the Dingles” as we saw my hidden psychic powers coming to the fore front…
