Mel Giedroyc

Writer and performer, Mel Giedroyc, started her career as half of the hugely successful double-act, Mel and Sue.
Shortlisted for the Best Newcomers Award at the Edinburgh Festival, Mel and Sue went on to write material for French and Saunders before hosting their own show, Light Lunch, which later became Late Lunch.
When the duo separated to work on individual projects, Mel worked on a range of programmes including co-presenting The Wright Stuff and Richard Hammonds Five O’clock show. Mel also appeared in three series of the twice BAFTA-nominated cult sketch show Sorry I’ve Got No Head. Other television credits include; Sketchy (for So TV), Holby City (BBC), Never Mind The Horrocks (Channel 4), London Shouting (BBC 2), The Vicar of Dibley (BBC 1), Fist Of Fun (BBC 2) and Gimme, Gimme, Gimme ( BBC2).
As well as starring 2009 UK tour of The Vagina Monologues Mel has also starred in the West End musical Eurobeat, New Boy at the Trafalgar Studios and Jack and the Beanstalk at the Barbican Theatre.
Mel and Sue reunited in 2010 to host the hugely successful cookery competition The Great British Bake Off on BBC 2, which was followed by a second series in 2011.
More recently, Mel has appeared in the popular teen drama, Sadie J as well as several series of the award-winning radio show, Count Arthur Strong’s Radio Show. Mel also presents The 4 o’clock Show daily on Radio 4 Extra.
